ALADDIN - January 13-19. Book now!

Aladdin
Presented by the Queenscliffe Lighthouse Theatre Group.

What do you do with an old dusty lamp? Polish it of course.

But what happens when a larger than life, magical Genie appears?

Mayhem and magic, with lots of laughs, singing and mischief.

A traditional pantomime where the lead character, Aladdin is played by a girl and we are delighted to introduce newcomer Millana Anello in that pivotal role.

Playing the “dame”, Widow Twankey is veteran actor, Ian Rooney, who brings a wealth of experience to this rather flamboyant character.

Joining them as the dark and mysterious stranger Abanazzar, is another professional actor and local identity Matthew King. Matthew last appeared as Captain Hook in the adventures of Peter Pan in 2018.

Sue Rawkins shows her versatility as both the Sorceress “Darkana”and the Empress.

Karina Whytcross plays Princess Baldroubador and others include Guy Wingrave as Wishy Washy, Jess Dolley as Typhoo the dancing panda as well as Colby McCallum & Georgia Archdall as Ping and Pong, River Madden as the Ring Genie, Matthew Tripodi, as the Genie of the Lamp, Emilia Kurak, as the Grand Wazier, Luke McKinnon, Georgia Slaymaker & Delanee Collins.

Aladdin has been adapted from the original tale by director Debbie Fraser and is set in China. This show promises to have something for the whole family.

Queenscliffe Lighthouse Theatre Group
announce their next production
Nunsense
by Dan Goggin
Directed by Debbie Fraser

To be presented in the Queenscliff Uniting Church Hall
September 13th - 21st  2019 .

Rehearsals are under way following on from the company's recent success of It's My Party (and I'll Die If I Want To) at the 360Q and as part of the Queenscliff Low Light Festival.
Nunsense is an hilarious musical comedy in the traditional Broadway style.

The Little Sisters of Hoboken have decided to put on a “Show” to raise money to bury sisters accidentally poisoned by the convent cook, Sister Julia (Child of God). The cast includes Jennie Roles as Sister Mary Regina, a feisty Mother Superior who can't resist the spotlight. Jennie has years of experience as a musical comedy performer with several awards and a list of credits too long to mention here, but last year directed the very popular “Dinkum Assorted”.

Carol Fogg will delight as Sister Mary Hubert, the mistress of Novices. The second in command. Carol has performed with most theatre companies in the Geelong region as well as guest vocalist. Carol was last seen in “Dinkum Assorted”.

QLTG welcomes newcomers to the company, Jess Dolley as Sister Robert Anne, the street wise school teacher and Tamasyn Shannon as the very sweet Sister Mary Leo, who has the desire of being the first ever Nun ballerina.

Lastly Sister Mary Amnesia, who has lost her memory after a crucifix fell on her head is played by Lisa Jones, who is also assisting with vocal direction and previously has worked with the company as stage manager.

QLTG returns to 360Q for LowLight 2019 - Introducing our director!

Following the success of last year's sellout season of After Dinner, QLTG are pleased to announce that we will be returning to 360Q for this year's LowLight festival in June.
We will be announcing this show very soon, as well as all the audition information, but first we are thrilled to welcome Robyn Birrell as director!

Robyn Birrell
Robyn Birrell began her professional arts industry career as a founding member of the Mill Theatre Company in Geelong and later, within that community, undertook the joint roles of Program Manager for Geelong Performing Arts Centre and Executive Officer of the Victorian Association of Performing Arts Centres for over a decade. In 2006 she moved to NSW and assisted in the establishment of The Glasshouse, a new multi-art form cultural centre in Port Macquarie. In 2010 she returned to Melbourne, taking on the role of Artistic Producer, Performing Arts at Gasworks Arts Park and in 2012 she joined Arts Centre Melbourne’s (ACM) programming team working as the Producer on the Hamer Hall re-opening as well as programs such as Carnegie 18; New Music Theatre Program, Kenneth Myer Asian Theatre Season, Full Tilt and the long running Morning Melodies Season. By 2014 Robyn had crossed to the commercial side of the ACM business and took on the newly developed position of Venue Sales Manager. In this role she maintained the relationships with the key resident companies and drives the hiring revenue for the main theatres and the Hamer Hall.

Robyn has held Governance roles with Geelong’s Courthouse Inc., The Arts Industry Council of Victoria and Queenscliff Music Festival as well being on panels for Arts Victoria’s Regional Arts Development Fund, Community Liaison Officers and Professionals in Residence Development Fund and the Organisation’s Investment Program over a number of years. While working in regional NSW Robyn was a panel member for the Arts NSW Touring Fund Panel and NSW Dance Fund Panel and an Executive Board Member for INAPAC.
