Page to Stage rehearsed readings

Want to be part of a fun night of rehearsed readings at our Page to Stage 2023 finale on 16 November? 

Just bring a short 2-actor scene or monologue you've rehearsed, to read on the night. We can provide scripts if you need one. Poetry and movement pieces are also welcome!

Email qltg.theatre@gmail.com to let us know what you are planning, and we'll put you into program. 

Invite your family and friends to be part of the audience and enjoy the performances. Entry is by gold coin donation. All welcome (16+)

PANTO AUDITIONS - Mon 9 October

 Sleeping Beauty auditions

Open auditions are on Monday 9 October for our January holiday pantomime Sleeping Beauty, to be directed by Debbie Fraser. 

We're after adults and young actors to play these fun roles, so come along to the auditions to be held at Queenscliff RSL on 9 October at 7pm. To book an audition, please call Lyn on 0414 897 720.

The panto will be staged from 8 to 13 January 2024 at Queenscliff Uniting Church, and our shows are always popular with holidaymakers.

For your audition, please prepare a short monologue suitable to the role you are auditioning for and a short song. Supply a backing track on your phone. You may be asked to improvise and do a reading from the script. 

Cast list

  • Princess Aurora – 16+. A vibrant young girl. Sings. Female.
  • Prince Frederick – 16+. Typical Prince like character. Sure of himself but also very likable. Sings. Male or female (pantomime boy). 
  • King Cole – Mature. Comedy role. Male.
  • Queen Coke – Mature. Comedy role. Can be male (dame) or female.
  • Daffy – 10+ Small Welsh dragon. Agile dancer and “roars”. Otherwise, non-speaking. Male or female.
  • Fairy Dreamawhile – Good fairy. Sings. Mature. Female.
  • Carabosse – Wicked fairy. Mature, female.
  • Fairy Moonbeam - 16+. Good fairy. Female.
  • Fairy Starbright – 16+. Good fairy. Female.
  • Lord Dandini – 16+. Lord Chamberlain to His Majesty. Male.
  • Spinning Jenny – 16+. Maid of Honour to the Princess. Speaks cockney. Female.
  • Pickles – 16+. Police officer in fancy dress as court Jester. Male or female.

Congratulations Lyn! Citizen of the Year

Queenscliffe Lighthouse Theatre Group's own secretary extraordinaire Lyn Houldcroft has been named 2023 Queenscliffe Citizen of the Year for her many volunteering roles across the Borough.

Lyn received her award from Mayor Isabelle Tolhurst at the presentation of the Queenscliffe Community Service Awards during National Volunteers Week on 17 May. 

She was recognised for her many community involvements including Point Lonsdale and Queenscliff Red Cross unit, Queenscliff RSL and of course QLTG.

Lyn is the heart and soul of the theatre group. She has displayed her talents on stage, behind the scenes and also been Secretary for many years. 

Congratulations Lyn on this well-deserved award, from all your theatre friends.

Join our play reading nights in 2023

Page to Stage, Queenscliffe Lighthouse Theatre Group's free play reading nights are on at  Queenscliff RSL every month.

If you're interested in reading scenes or short plays, then come along. No experience is necessary, and everyone gets a go. Enjoy the fun of theatre with a diverse and friendly group.

The play readings are held in the third week of each month, alternating between Monday and Thursday nights. They are open to anyone aged 16 and over. Bring your own drinks.
