Double Acts heads 2026 QLTG season

 

2026 Season

John Finnemore's DOUBLE ACTS
Two comic radio plays performed live at 'Radio QLTG' on Friday 10 July to Sunday 12 July at Queenscliff Community Hall, 16 Symonds St. Tickets $25. For more details and bookings: https://www.qltg.org.au/shows

CLASS ACT
Barry Tudor leads an 8-week acting improvisation course for 15-21 years, on Wednesday evenings from 29 July to 16 September, followed by a theatre sports competition on 18 and 19 September.

GEELONG SHORT PLAY FESTIVAL
After our award-winning turn at the inaugural event in 2025, QLTG performs the short play Knock Me Down With a Feather, at Geelong Arts Centre, on 14 and 15 August. Part of a 6-play program. Tickets from GAC.

ON BORROWED TIME
Edge of the Heart Productions presents four connected short plays on Sunday 22 November, 2pm and 5pm.

RUMPELSTILTSKIN
Our popular annual holiday pantomime coming in January 2027. Auditions and rehearsals from early October.

AUDITION CALL - John Finnemore's Double Acts

QLTG is pleased to announce we are holding auditions on Monday 2 March at 7pm for
John Finnemore's Double Acts - two one-act plays
To be performed at Queenscliff Community Hall, 16 Symonds St, Queenscliff on 15-17 May (four shows).

The plays are:

  • A Flock of Tigers Directed by Petrina Dakin

Required: 1 M, 1 F – 30s/40s or similar

On a train in England in 1934, Edmund – on his way to visit his young son at boarding school - is unable to use his imagination. American passenger Dolorosa is ready to help.

  • Red-Handed Directed by Carol Fogg

Required: 1 M – 60s/70s, 1 M or F – 20s/30s or similar

Joel comes home unexpectedly early from work to find an unusual visitor. An older gentleman dressed in a suit, Henry is charming, suave, intelligent, well-spoken... and he just happens to be burgling Joel's house.

The plays are part of a series of radio plays written by comedy wiz John Finnemore and produced for BBC Radio 4 in 2015. The plays are two-handers and each runs for about 40 minutes.

Pinocchio delights young and old

Community Hall transformed to magical world

The QLTG production of Pinocchio in January has been a huge success, with all 10 shows sold out. Thank you for coming to our show! We were delighted to share Pinocchio's story and songs with you and we loved hearing the excited buzz from young and old as they came out of the theatre.
