Trilogy of Plays - change of plan

It is with deep regret that we must advise that the QLTG production of Trilogy of Plays planned to be staged in November is now not able to go ahead.

This in no way reflects on those people who auditioned last week. Our director, Marion Melrose, would have been very happy to have cast them in a role. However, there were roles which called for a certain type of person, whether it be age or gender, for which we had no candidates. Marion has tried very hard over the last week to fill these roles, but has been unsuccessful.

This has not been an easy decision, but one which unfortunately has had to be made.

QLTG will be staging Ghost Walks in Queenscliff in January. This involves an ‘in street’ walk giving the history of Queenscliff’s past. We did this last year and they were very successful. We will provide more information about Ghost Walks soon.

Little Mermaid - change of plan

It is with regret that we announce the production of "The Little Mermaid" will not be going ahead as scheduled in June/July this year.

We understand that this is disappointing for those members who enthusiastically auditioned over the two nights, but unfortunately, in the best interests of the company and taking into account the ongoing direction of QLTG, this regrettably hard decision has had to be made.

Don't despair, the committee are meeting early next week to decide on an alternative plan for mid year & then an exciting venture for later in the year.

Please stay tuned and we will be in touch soon.

Auditions for Little Mermaid

We are excited to announce that our next show is The Little Mermaid with performances in late June / early July 2014.

Open Auditions will be held on Monday 10 March and Wednesday 12 March, at the Queenscliffe RSL, 9 King St (corner of Hesse St) in Queenscliff. Be sure to arrive by 6:55pm, ready for starting auditions at 7pm sharp. All are welcome; you can bring your own music, but it is not essential.

There are a variety of roles for a variety of performers - young and old, male and female, fast and slow - the biggest requirement is that you be positive and committed, and ready to enjoy the experience. There are also many offstage opportunities to have fun, make new friends and build your skills: wardrobe, sets and props, promotion, backstage crew, ticketing, front of house, and more.

For those selected in the show, rehearsals will be held each Monday and Wednesday night, beginning on Monday 17 March. All participants must be financial members of QLTG (annual fee $25 adults or $15 children) - this applies to both onstage and offstage roles. Memberships will be collected at the auditions above, and at first rehearsal. Performers are also required to pay a Performance Levy (amount to be determined) covering scripts and costumes.

IMPORTANT: This is NOT the Disney version of Little Mermaid. Please avoid watching that DVD for a while, to prevent disorientation.

For more information see "Contact Us" on this website, or preferably attend the auditions and ask questions there.
